Turn your garden's bounty into delicious homemade jam. Fresh fruit jam is simple enough for anyone to make with a little preparation. Join Lynn Royston of Hillside Urban Garden and learn about what constitutes a jam and how that differs from a preserve, marmalade, or jelly. In this workshop, you'll learn a simple recipe and some of the principles and theory behind turning fruit and sugar into delicious jam you can share with friends and family.

We can all use a little calm as we head into the holidays. Join SRJC Director Maleese Warner for a restorative, relaxing and restful practice and yoga nidra meditation. Yoga nidra, also known as yogic sleep/restis a meditation and conscious relaxation practice that is intended to induce total physical, mental, and emotional relaxationYoga nidra is generally practiced lying down so you can let go completely. Props, pillows and blankets are commonly used, as well as anything that will help you get into a totally comfortable, restful position. The yoga nidra practice is highly guided, and takes your attention to specific places through a series of steps, which can make it easier to relax than in meditation.

The Spring equinox is just around the corner. To bring in the balance and the shift into spring's new growth, Maleese Warner is offering Yin Yoga and Meditation in this workshop.  In this Yin Yoga practice, you will prop your body with blankets and a pillow while staying in supportive restorative postures.  After the Yin practice, Maleese will guide you through a short Yoga Nida Meditation. It is recommended you have a yoga mat or soft place to lay, two thick blankets or a fewl large towels, and two pillows for this session.
